A great deal of information is available from this website, and if you prefer to seek it out yourself
rather than to ask fellow guild members, help yourself, that's why it's here.
First Steps
For some, joining Armada may be a little daunting, especially if you are new to Earth and Beyond
or the MMORPG genre itself. Don't worry about it, we were all new once ;)
You are faced with guild chat scrolling past, full of new people, all chatting, all knowing
each other and enjoying the banter that can be expected between friends. How do you break the ice?
If you are confident enough then all you need do is introduce yourself and take it from there.
If you are a little shy then try just typing "Hello guild" and leave it at that until you begin
to settle in and get to know one or two people. Armada is a friendly and cheerful guild, we pride
ourselves on it. I guarantee you will get a flurry of greetings, some quicker than others as people
may be otherwise occupied at the point you say hello. Don't take it to heart if it seems someone ignores
you, chances are that the person is in combat, studying the Market Channel, or any one of a host of other
things that mean they may either not be able to instantly reply or even means they missed your hello.
Whenever you log on say hello to your guild. Even if that is all you say until logging off, though
it is nice if you greet other members who log on while you are playing. It is also appreciated if you say
bye before leaving or to those who are logging off. Saying Hello and Goodbye may seem trivial things,
but they help make Armada a friendlier place to visit. Besides, it is nice to see the screen scroll up
with a flurry of greetings from people who are pleased that you have logged on ;)
Advancing within the Guild
You can expect to be a Cadet for about a week. If you are not promoted to the rank of Captain
after a week then ask a guild mate why not. This happens when you are accidentaly overlooked, this is
more likely to happen if you have been quietly finding your own way around the guild rather than leaping in
feet first. Please do not get angry or upset by it, it is not an intentional slight against you, we try
not to let it happen but it does; When you bring it to our attention you will get an apology with your
promotion.
It is also possible at the end of a week that we may inform you that we are unsure that
you are right for Armada and sugest you find an alternate guild, however this is rare, so don't worry about it.
I am Quickly, Regent of Armada. If you are a Cadet and have any questions or need help with
anything relating to Armada or Earth and Beyond, please do not hesitate to contact me. We all were
new once and I am here to help.

Being a Captain
Being a Captain is easy. Log on, have fun, log off. The guild makes no demands on you other than you
follow the spirit of the Guild Charter, be friendly and not disruptive.
Advancing within the Guild
You have a couple of options available for promotion. You can organise an event (see the Marshall section
below) and become a Marshall, or you can focus on being an asset to your fellow guild mates. By being helpful,
joining in events and generally making an effort to make the guild an enjoyable place to be you will eventually
be noticed by your guild peers and promoted.

Choosing a Profession
You are expected to help out within the guild; When someone is stuck with a mission, give advice or even
more practical assistance. If you can build something make sure you are available to provide others with what
you need. Armada tends to trade on friendship rather than credits. What is expected of Professional ranks is that they
offer practical help to others in the guild. Your Profession will dictate the sort of help you can offere
Advancing within the Guild
Becoming part of the Honour Guard requires long and devoted service to Armada; It is a rank to which you are
appointed by the Senior Guildmembers and not easily attained.
You can organise an event (see the Marshall section below) and become a Marshall.

| Marshall |
Being a Marshall
You have made a commitment to your fellow guild members by starting an event. Running an event is
not always easy, you have to take responsibility for others. Take a look at the
Event Conduct section.
Organising an Event
Organising an event is very easy once you have decided what the event will be. You can use the Contact form on this site to tell the Regent the details of your event. Make sure you state the time the event will start clearly,
you can use your local time and let the Regent translate this into UTC as used by the guild. Keep an eye on
the Events section and you will see your event added to to the list of ongoing events. The Chancellor will
probably add the event to the Forum calendar as well. Then all you need to do is be on-line at the stated
time, gather those who want to join in the event and run it.
Events that go badly
First of all..Do not worry. There are many reasons why an event can flop. Perhaps no-one turns up, or everyone
dies during a hunt, or someone attending your event disrupts it. These things do not mean you are a bad organiser or
that you should give up and go home. Everyone who runs events will have good days and bad days, you have to
take the rough with the smooth, learn from your own mistakes, tweak your event if you want, but do not let it get you down.
So long as you follow the Event Conduct rules I promise you that you will have my support and help,
and that of the other senior guild ranks as well.
Failing to run an event
If you cannot be available to run your event ask a fellow Marshall (or higher) to stand in for you. Failing
that, contact the Chancellor or Regent and inform him that you are unavailable to run the event that week.
If you fail to run an event and make no effort to reorganise or reschedule, you are letting people down and that
is unacceptable. Once will be overlooked. Twice will result in the Justicar issuing you a caution. Thrice and you are
automatically demoted to the rank of Captain.
Advancing within the Guild
Becoming part of the Honour Guard requires long and devoted service to Armada; it is a rank to which you are
appointed by the Senior Guildmembers and not easily attained although a long serving Marshall will have greater chance
of being promoted to the Honour Guard than a Commander.
Once you believe you have enough support from the membership you can request, from a Senior guild member, promotion to Provost.
This happens automatically. Do not do this on a whim, I would suggest you canvas the membership first, see if you have the
support and only when it is clear that you do should you present yourself; Especially if there are already a maximum number of
Provosts and you are going to challenge to gain the promotion.

| Honour Guard |
Being one of the Honour Guard
You are one of those who has dedicated yourself to Armada, one who in the opinion of the Chancellor and Regent epitomises the spirit of our guild. You carry the honour of our guild on your shoulders,
you are an example to the rest of Armada of what we want from our members.
You have only one real responsibility, support the Chancellor and the Regent in ensuring that guild discipline is maintained,
disruptions from arguments and disputes are quickly and amiably settled, and the members follow the spirit of the guild charter.
