Armada is a guild on the Galileo server.
Armada is a relatively small and very friendly guild. We like to think of
ourselves as a large team, a fraternity of Captains who support and assist
each other at all times. Armada prefers the atmosphere that the smaller guild
offers, and though we will continue to grow, we will do so at a pace which allows
us to maintain the sense of community which we share. As Regent I not only know the
names of each of our Members, and their alternate characters, but also where they
are in the world. So far Armada is proud to have members from North America, Europe,
and Australasia.
We are open to all races, classes and levels, drawing strength from our diversity.
We know that all races and classes have their strengths and weaknesses, and
within Armada we seek to build on each others strengths while compensating for
each others weaknesses. We are also as happy to take the novice player as we
are the veteran player. It is a prerequisite of the higher ranks within Armada that
they are helpful and most of us enjoy being there to help new players.
Armada is an organised democratic-meritocracy, we believe in the individuals
right to have a say in the running of the guild, and we believe that an
individuals value within Armada should not be based on level, wealth or
resources, but on the individuals contribution and commitment to our guild.
Due to this attitude we have a Forum established on Yahoo as place for our
Members to debate and vote on guild policies, share information, post pictures,
announce events, in fact anything they wish so long as it is legal and not
offensive to other members. We even have shops on-forum so we can trade items
and minerals within the guild at special guild prices. Internal Guild economics are based upon
rank, but even our Applicants will pay far less within the guild than on the
Market Channel, while our senior members are never expected to pay more than the
base cost of any item or resourse.
As a guild we hunt together regularly. We have Roger Wilco
for those who enjoy the real-time voice comm. Our builders are also organised
so that looted items go to the most appropriate builder for analysis or dismantling.
Although we are not a 'roleplaying guild', several of our members, myself included,
enjoy dropping into character and roleplaying. We have a variety of opinions on
the various plotlines, though some players follow them more closely than others.
Once again Armada, as a guild, takes a position which believes that there is
strength in diversity, so long as that diversity is tempered by acceptance of a
democratic system.
